Saarbrücken Daily Photo turns 100!

this is my 100th post here and for that reason you get a photograph of the girl behind this blog (or at least a photo of my shadow, standing on the Westspange (bridge) at dusk) ;)

I miss...

That is what I miss right now. I took this photograph about one or two weeks ago and since this photo we have an absolutely perfect blue sky and warm temperatures. This is great and it's cool because you can be outdoors all the time but there are so much pollen in the air right now so it's hard for allergic persons :(. It's the first time I suffer from a little hay fever and so I wish there was rain again for one day.

"postal code fight"

There are many people, mostly youths, who spray the last numbers of their place's postal code they live in on walls, houses or signs. It seems a popular thing among youths to show off where they belong to and sometimes they start to "battle" people from another postal code area. "117" belongs to Old-Saarbrücken, where I found this street sign and the smearing on it.

Yellow Bags

Another Yellow Bags post today.
Everything that's marked with the Green Dot you throw into such yellow bags. Once a week there comes a big car that carries the bags away.

At fairs you often see booths selling many kinds of candy. The most popular candies are hearts made of gingerbread with nice things written on them.

Two times a year there is a kermis (do you say that in English?) in town. Today I was at the first one this year and I took some pictures that I'll post the next days :).

Theme Day: Numbers

Those strange signs can be found everywhere in German cities. They are for e.g. firefighters because there are important informations about the street and there is written where the next hydrant (or other water sources) are located.
